This is the newest workout plan I built — but why hybrid?
I tried the 7-minute workout every day. The scale went down, but my body composition was bad — small arms, weak legs, still skinny-fat.
Then I tried weight lifting only. I got stronger and I could see some muscle (even though I was still fat). The problem: anything that required endurance wiped me out fast.
So I switched to a hybrid plan combining strength training and cardio. This way I can build muscle while improving endurance. My body still isn't perfect — still overweight — but compared to anything I'd done before, I'm a lot stronger lifting heavy and on a long walk or hike. Even compared to high-school me.
What I get out of this plan
- No overtraining. Each day is doable without dragging fatigue from the last.
- Toned body + real endurance at the same time. (Well I am still fat, no pictures for proof yet)
- That's about it haha.
The companion app
I built an app to help me run the plan — it shows the workout for each day, a timer for which set I'm on, and how long to rest between sets. The whole plan is dumbbell-only, so all you need is a pair of dumbbells.
So — let's go build better health together.
PS: I'm trying to get consistent. I'm not consistent either :D
